Founded in Paris in 1890 by Jean-François Tron, Idéale became famous for its high-end, handcrafted leather saddles. Based in Pont-Saint-Pierre in Normandy, the company enjoyed its heyday in the 1930s to 1960s, supplying champions such as Jacques Anquetil, Roger Pingeon and Bernard Thévenet. The Idéale 90 model, launched in 1964, is particularly iconic for its lightness and comfort.
