Manufacturer's plates
From the end of the 19th century onwards, bicycles were fitted with manufacturer's plates, usually attached above the fork. Most often made of stamped metal, and sometimes enamelled in the case of older models, these plates were used to identify the bicycle manufacturers. Today, they have become true collector's items: evidence of the existence of thousands of brands, some of which no longer exist, they tell the story of the bicycle industry, from craftsmanship to industrial production.
