A vintage bike is a giant Meccano set
Rebuilding a 1970s bike means accepting a quest. The quest for the Grail: that exact Huret derailleur, that Mafac hood that no longer exists, that Stronglight chainring with the precise tooth count. We search, we trade, we wait — and one morning, the part arrives.
Then you turn into a Tour galley slave: hands deep in grease, you bolt, you tune, you adjust to the millimetre. Every screw has its story, every brand its legend. And when the chain finally runs smoothly, it's a small stage win.
What we love is keeping these machines alive. The parts we sell aren't showcase objects: they go back on the road. That has been the spirit of the house since 2005.
The new arrivals from the bench
A bike asleep in the garage? We'll buy it.
Dusty frame, an inherited box of parts, derailleurs forgotten in the attic… Send us a few photos. We assess, we make you an honest offer, and those parts go back on the road with other enthusiasts.
