Founded in France in 1947, Spécialités TA (short for ‘Traction Avant’) specialised in high-end transmission components from the outset. The brand became famous in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to its precision-machined chainrings, which were highly prized in cycle touring and racing. TA stands out for its universal compatibility: its chainrings can replace those of the biggest brands, including Campagnolo and Stronglight. In the 1980s and 1990s, the company expanded its range with cranksets, bottle cages and accessories, all still manufactured in France.
