Vitus is an iconic French brand specialising in the manufacture of bicycle frames, particularly in top-of-the-range steel. It made a name for itself in the 70s and 90s with its Super Vitus tubes, prized for their lightness and responsiveness. These tubes were fitted to many racing bikes, often used by brands such as Peugeot, Gitane and Motobécane. Vitus also innovated with bonded aluminium frames in the 80s, such as the famous Vitus 979.
