Atax was a French brand specialising in aluminium stems and handlebars, which featured prominently on bicycles from the 60s to the 80s. It belonged to Spidel, a group of French component manufacturers. Renowned for its lightweight, affordable parts, it equipped many racing and touring bikes. The brand disappeared with the decline of the French cycle industry in the face of competition from Asia.

The French brand Atom, founded by Maurice Maillard, specialised in the manufacture of bicycle components, in particular hubs, pedals and freewheels, between the 1950s and 1980s. Its products were found on many mid-range French bicycles of the period. In 1980, Atom became part of Maillard, which was subsequently acquired by Sachs.

Founded in Italy in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi, the brand is one of the oldest in the cycling world. A pioneer, it popularised the diamond frame and equipped great champions such as Fausto Coppi. Its emblematic Celeste colour became a symbol of Italian cycling.

Cibié, founded in 1919, is best known for its automotive lighting, but the brand also produced equipment for bicycles.
In the 1950s–1970s, Cibié manufactured headlights, reflectors and dynamo lights for city and touring bicycles.
Their equipment was distinguished by its high quality and improved visibility, which was greatly appreciated at the time.

Huret was a French brand specialising in derailleurs and bicycle computers, active from 1920 to the 1980s. Renowned for its precision derailleurs, it equipped many road and touring bikes. In the 1980s, the brand was bought by Sachs, then integrated into SRAM.

LAM (or L.A.M.) was a French brand of bicycle parts, best known for its aluminium brakes and levers. Active between the 1950s and 1980s, it is believed to have been linked to Établissements H. Lamarque, located in Bézu-Saint-Éloi. Its products, such as the LAM Course and World Champion models, were used on road and touring bikes. The brand disappeared at the end of the 20th century, mainly due to competition from Mafac.

SRAM is an American brand specialising in top-of-the-range bicycle components, with a strong presence in mountain bikes, gravel and road bikes, and competing with Shimano at the top end of the market.

SunRace is a Taiwanese brand founded in 1972, specialising in bicycle drivetrains. It offers cassettes, derailleurs and chains compatible with Shimano and SRAM. Appreciated for its good value for money, it equips mountain bikes, gravel bikes and road bikes.

Suntour, founded in Japan in 1912, made its name with innovations in bicycle drivetrains. In the 1960s and 70s, the brand revolutionised the derailleur with the slant-parallelogram, offering smoother gear changes. Suntour dominated the market until the 1980s, when it lost ground to Shimano and disappeared from the top of the range.
