Founded in Paris in 1890 by Jean-François Tron, Idéale has become famous for its top-of-the-range, handcrafted leather saddles. Based in Pont-Saint-Pierre in Normandy, the company's heyday was in the 1930s and 1960s, equipping champions such as Jacques Anquetil, Roger Pingeon and Bernard Thévenet. The Idéale 90 model, launched in 1964, is particularly emblematic for its lightness and comfort.
