Dia-Compe is a Japanese brand of bicycle components, founded by Yoshigai Machine & Metal Works in 1949, after starting to manufacture brakes in 1930. Specialising in braking systems, the brand quickly established itself thanks to the quality and reliability of its products. In the 1970s and 1980s, Dia-Compe experienced international growth, notably by adopting certain technologies from the Swiss manufacturer Weinmann, which strengthened its expertise in centred brakes and brake levers.
