Spidel was a French brand of bicycle components, particularly popular in the 1970s and 1980s. It brought together several French manufacturers (Stronglight, Maillard, Simplex, CLB, Sedis, etc.) under a single label.The aim was to compete with Campagnolo by offering a complete 100% French groupset.The parts bore the Spidel mark, but often came from the factories of major partner brands.
